Grocery Shopping:
There’s a Price Chopper and Hannaford in Gloversville, both big grocery chains.
The most delightful option is the Mohawk Harvest Co-op Market in Gloversville, which supports local farmers. They offer organic produce, pastured eggs and grass-fed beef and lamb. An art gallery, Micropolis, and crafts by local woodworkers, potters and soap makers add to the charm. You’ll want to linger at the espresso bar with on-site coffee roasting, homemade soups, savories and baked goods – plus a leather sofa and cafe tables.
Gloversville has a seasonal Farmer’s Market on Saturdays from 8 till noon and Johnstown has one on Tuesdays from 3-6pm.
Great local produce is also available at farmsteads and “pick your own” orchards.

Antiquing is popular, with several shops in the area including the Caroga Lake Emporium and antique malls in nearby Little Falls and.
